Download Citadel Frame

That message is Microsoft Defender SmartScreen reputation, not a malware verdict. It appears for any new installer/app until enough Windows users worldwide have run the exact same file hash. It does not mean the file is unsafe.

If you downloaded the ZIP archive:

Windows tags every file extracted from a downloaded .zip with a hidden Mark-of-the-Web flag. SmartScreen then blocks CitadelFrame.exe the first time you run it. Clear the flag once and the warning disappears for good.

Easiest — double-click the bundled launcher:

Inside the extracted folder, double-click Run-CitadelFrame.cmd. It clears the Mark-of-the-Web from every file in the folder and starts CitadelFrame.exe. (Windows will show a small “Open file - Security Warning” for the .cmd itself the first time — click Run.) After that first launch, the warning never returns.

Cleaner — unblock the ZIP before extracting:

1. Right-click the downloaded CitadelFrame-v1.0.0-win-x64.zip → Properties.
2. At the bottom of the General tab, tick Unblock → OK.
3. Then extract the ZIP. None of the extracted files will be blocked.

Manual PowerShell (if you already extracted and prefer the terminal):

In the extracted folder, hold Shift + right-click the empty space → Open in Terminal, then paste:

Get-ChildItem -Recurse | Unblock-File

Then double-click CitadelFrame.exe — the SmartScreen banner will not return.

Option C — bypass once:

On the SmartScreen dialog, click More info → Run anyway.
